Launched in July 2013, I took a general design the client gave me and turned it into a WordPress site. It features editorial content, event listings, and a theatre artist directory. The event listings and directory are powered by two plugins.
Re-launched in summer 2014, I created a custom design for the client. It’s an e-commerce site in WordPress. The client wanted a strong aesthetic vibe that really complimented the types of music they sold.
I maintain this site for the Arts Council. This involves making layout changes, navigation adjustments, generating editorial content for the front page, and updating the events list. Recently the site changed hosts. I oversaw that process with assistance from the original designer. The events list is powered by custom programming.
I took over management of the cARTel website in December 2012. Originally a custom built PHP site, it is now in WordPress. cARTel did a rebranding in June 2014. Changing the website to WordPress and giving it a major facelift was part of it.
With cARTel, I’ve created the following sites for their projects. Most of the logos you see in this section were done by Laura Cheek, Brand Manager for cARTel.
In April 2014, we launched the new Brokechella website. It was already in WordPress. We just wanted it to have a new look.
This site launched in the summer of 2013, and we redesigned it in 2014. The No Budget Film Festival website was made using Squarespace. The producers wanted a slick, modern looking site. Squarespace offered the easiest option at the time. There was barely any coding to do on my part to set it up.
Afterlife was an art party cARTel presented in August 2014. It was held at Angel City Brewery.
The Happiness Project was an ensemble based theatre piece that toured throughout Los Angeles in the summer of 2013. It’s WordPress based.
The Living Room Tour is cARTel’s oldest project. It’s what helped to start the company over five years ago. The producers wanted to have a sub-site so we could add extra information easily without having to revamp the main cARTel site. It launched in September 2013. It’s Joomla based, the first Joomla site I’ve done. I modified a free template called Vertino. It uses the popular Nivo slider on the homepage.
As Theatre Communications Specialist at the Hillcrest Center for the Arts, I maintained these two sites. We usedFrontpage to update them. In October 2014, I finished coordinating the redesign of HillcrestArts.com. The redesign of YAEonline.com is in progress.
